Admission Going On For The Session 2024-25

Rules

Application for Admission is to be made in Prescribed Application Form of DR. K. R. ADHIKARY COLLEGE OF OPTOMETRY & PARAMEDICAL TECHNOLOGY.

The completed application addressed to the Administrator-cum-Principal should be submitted in the office of College Building in hand/ by post before announced last date and with late fees of Rs. 100/- ( Rupees One Hundred only ) up to 10 days after last date.

Candidates will have to appear before a Board of Selection Committee or an Entrance Examination will be done as per decision of the authority for selection. Candidate while submitting the Application in hand will know the date and time of the said test. In case of submissions of Application by post along with self-addressed stamped (for registered post) 11 × 25 cm. size envelops to send the Admit Card.

List of selected Candidates will be displayed in the Notice Board of the College.

All Diploma, PG Diploma & Certificate Courses are likely to commence on and from July every year

In each course seats are limited. ( 10% seats shall be reserved for S.C./S.T./O.B.C. candidates in each course )

Diploma – H.S.(10+2) (Science). Other than science students compulsory one year Pre-Optometry & Pre-Technology Course (Bridge Course)

PG Diploma – Graduation in Science / Paramedical / Allied Health & Health Sciences

Certificate – Madhyamik Or Equivalent

Mentioned in the Outline of Professional Courses and Vocational Courses.

Diploma & PG Diploma Courses –

English will be the common language. However, every effort is made by Lecturers to present their subjects in words, which are easy to understand. Lecturers would always be ready to help any student, who has not understood.

Certificate Courses –

Bilingual ( English & Bengali ). However, every effort is made by Lecturers to present their subjects in words, which are easy to understand. Lecturers would always be ready to help any student, who has not understood.

The fullest opportunity will be provided to students to carry out Clinical Work themselves through each course.

Few courses required prescribed aparatus have to purchase each student for their personal use.

Students must wear their prescribed Uniform. Students of Clinical Classes must have their own White Aprons.

The students will be permitted to avail themselves the facilities available in the College Library and Digital Library as per rules and regulations of College.

Hostel facilities are available

All students will have to obtain Identity Card duly signed by the Administrator-cum-Principal. Every Student must carry his/her Identity Card along with him/her and produce the same on demand inside the College Campuses.

a) Written warning and information to the Parent/Guardian.

b) Fine Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) or above.

c) Suspension/expulsion from the Department/O.P.D. and College.

d) Debarring from Examination, Participation in C.M.E. Programmes.

e) Information to Law Enforcing Authorities.

80% attendance in classes including Practical and O.P.D. duty is necessary for a collegiate student to appear in the Annual Examination. Below 80% attendance in classes will be treated as a Non-collegiate student. This category of students may be considered justified on facts and internal assessment and has to pay a requisite fees to appear the Annual Examination.

Regular Periodical Examinations shall be conducted throughout the courses. In addition there shall be regular day-to-day assessment of student assignment.

All students have to participate all college programs, otherwise disciplinary action will be taken.

All examinations will be held as per University norms.

1st Division : 60% || 2nd Division : 50% || Pass Mark: 40%

In case of 6 months Internship, no remuneration will be given at the time of internship because it is the part of the courses to improve the practical skill of the Students.

After completion of different courses Associate Membership of Greater Kolkata Doctors’ Association is necessary and compulsory.

To develop English Enhancement skills, listening skills, speaking skills, reading skills, vocabulary, written skills, presentation skills etc., grooming session is compulsory for all students of all courses. A nominal fee will be charged for this session. Grooming session & campus interview for placement will be conducted by our Placement Cell.
